PDI Microwave: Featured Integrated Assemblies & Subsystems

PDI Microwave specializes in "Built-to-Spec" integrated microwave assemblies (IMAs), combining active and passive components into high-reliability, ruggedized packages for military and aerospace applications.

1. Receiver Front End (RCVFE) – Model P975

A high-performance integrated subassembly designed for wideband operation in harsh naval and tactical environments.

  • Frequency Range: 2.0 GHz to 18.0 GHz.

  • Integrated Functions: Input Limiter, SPDT Switches, LNAs, 25dB Switched Attenuator, and Equalizer.

  • Gain Performance: 31dB at 2GHz, scaling up to 39dB at 18GHz.

  • Noise Figure: 6dB max at 2GHz; 5dB max at 18GHz.

  • Switching Speed: 200 nanoseconds maximum.

  • Power Handling: Limiter provides protection up to 100W peak.

  • Reliability: MTBF exceeds 100,000 hours (Naval Unsheltered conditions .

2. 300-8000 MHz Switch Filter Bank  

This assembly provides precision frequency selection across a broad 0.3 to 8 GHz spectrum using advanced ceramic technology.

  • Frequency Range: 300 MHz to 8000 MHz.

  • Filtering: Multi-channel bank of bandpass filters for superior signal purity.

  • Insertion Loss: Efficient performance with <7dB loss across the passband.

  • Switching Speed: Fast sub-200ns transitions.

  • Linearity: 3rd order intercept (IP3)  32dBm.

  • Rugged Construction: Nickel-plated housing, qualified to MIL-STD-810G for high-level shock and vibration.

  • Material Technology: Utilizes premium LQ3 Ceramic material for thermal stability.

3. VHB Down & Up Converter – Model UDC0216P5-1840

A dual-path subsystem designed for advanced K/Ka Band radar and communication test environments.

  • Dual-Path Integration: Combines both Up-Conversion and Down-Conversion stages into a single unit.

  • RF Range: 18.0 GHz to 40.0 GHz (K/Ka Band).

  • IF Range: 2.0 GHz to 16.5 GHz.

  • Precision Interfaces: 2.92mm (K) connectors for mmWave ports and Super SMA for IF/LO paths.

  • Tactical Connectivity: MIL-DTL-26482 series power and control interface for extreme durability.

  • Thermal Design: Specialized aluminum housing for continuous high-frequency stability.
